The Altus Ground Breaking Ceremony
The Lord Mayor of Melbourne, Robert Doyle today join Digital Harbour Holdings, Altus Development, Probuild, Pan Pacific Hotels Group’s Area General Manager, Oceania, Craig Bond and Chief Financial Officer and Head of Business Development, Soon Hup Neo in the Ground Breaking ceremony to celebrate the commencement of construction of The Altus, PARKROYAL Melbourne hotel and apartment development at Digital Harbour in Melbourne Docklands.
The venture partners, Altus Developments and Digital Harbour Holdings through a 12-month design and development process overseen by Places Victoria, conceived this project. Under the management of the venture partners the outcome of the development process will see the creation of a landmark building at the northern gateway to the Docklands precinct.
The project will be delivered by Probuild Constructions (Aust) Pty Ltd. Probuild, a leading Australian construction group, is delighted to be supporting the development consortium and the Pan Pacific Hotels Group in providing delivery services of the highest quality for the project.
The 37-storey landmark tower offers a luxurious standard of living in Melbourne’s dynamic and evolving Docklands and is situated on the corner of Harbour Esplanade and Dudley Street. Designed by Moull Murray Architects, the development will complete the northern gateway to Docklands and the Central Business District and will offer 266 superbly appointed rooms under the hotel component and 331 separately accessed residential apartments.
Scheduled to launch in the second half of 2016, the 4.5 star PARKROYAL Melbourne, located in The Altus, will be managed by Singapore-based Pan Pacific Hotels Group and will be the second PARKROYAL in the gateway city of Melbourne, as well as the fifth addition to the Group’s portfolio of leisure and business hotels and resorts in cities across Australia: PARKROYAL Melbourne Airport, PARKROYAL Darling Harbour, Sydney, PARKROYAL Parramatta and Pan Pacific Perth. The development will strengthen the existing PARKROYAL presence in Melbourne, complementing PARKROYAL Melbourne Airport.

PARKROYAL Melbourne will be no exception, providing visitors with a sophisticated and refined interior that is aligned with the luxurious living of the Melbourne Docklands area.
Spanning the first 18 storeys of The Altus complex, PARKROYAL Melbourne will offer 266 beautifully furnished rooms, a restaurant and lounge, gymnasium, lap pool and meeting spaces. It is also one of the first hotels in Melbourne Docklands targeting an Award of Merit under the Docklands Ecologically Sustainable Development Guide.

David Napier, a Director of Digital Harbour, welcomed the involvement of the iconic PARKROYAL brand in the ongoing roll-out of the Digital Harbour precinct.
“This building will strengthen the links between New Quay to the west and the proposed future residential enclave of E-Gate to the north with the rapidly developing western edge of the CBD. Located just a few hundred metres from the on/off ramps of CityLink, The Altus will also be connected to Melbourne’s freeway network, within 15 minutes of Melbourne’s International airport and located within Docklands most accessible precinct at Digital Harbour.
Hotel, guests will have access to Melbourne’s famous tram network, including the free city circle trams. With a tram super-stop located within 100 metres of the front door and with several routes to select from, departing every few minutes, guests and residents will be able to travel to the centre of the city and to Melbourne’s major sporting venues, cultural centres and museums” he said.
