MMA's project: Living Space, Cockburn Central has taken out the Affordable Development category at the UDIA Awards for Excellence announced in Perth on Saturday night.
Living space was also a finalist in two other awards: Medium Density and Sustainable Urban Development.
The jury commented ...the development at Cockburn Central is a medium density, mixed use project that offers affordable and sustainable living options in a modern, vibrant and engaged community.
Living Space’s mix of affordable rental, social rental, commercial rental and home ownership opportunities ensures financial sustainability that will provide key sources of ongoing funding to support broader affordable housing activities.
Each apartment has achieved energy rating of six to ten Stars making the development one of the largest energy efficient buildings in the State. Orientation, insulation, glazing and other features contribute towards low energy costs, along with energy efficient lighting, water efficient fittings and heating features.

HOTEL / APARTMENTS 'THE ALTUS' RECEIVES PLANNING APPROVAL

Planning Minister Matthew Guy has granted approval to build a $130 million hotel and residential complex on one of the few remaining undeveloped spots in the northern end of Docklands.
The new project will be part of the Digital Harbour precinct and the 37-level tower will sit on the block of land at 238 Harbour Esplanade, between Harbour Esplanade and Wurundjeri Way...
...The plans call for a complex of 360 apartments and a 4.5-star, 176-room hotel. The facilities will include a 200-seat restaurant, conference centre, pool, gym and 255 car parking spaces. It has been designed by architects Moull Murray.

A much-anticipated development at Signal Terrace in Cockburn Central, located next to the train station and close to Gateway Shopping City, is making good progress and is expected to impress on a number of levels.
A partnership between the Department of Housing and Probuild Constructions (Australia), the development has been funded through Stage Two of the Commonwealth’s Nation Building Economic Stimulus Plan.
It consists of 67 one-bedroom, 56 two-bedroom and seven three-bedroom residential apartments and six commercial units spread across five buildings ranging in height from three to five stories....read more
